We're Maxime and Ornella, a photography and film duo based in the South of France. We've been together since 2020 and we shoot weddings as a pair: Ornella on photography, Maxime on film.
Ornella is fluent in English and handles everything from your first email to the last frame of your wedding film. You won't be translating your own wedding.
We've worked with American couples before, including a couple from Pennsylvania who married at the Château de la Tour Vaucros near Avignon. We know the questions that come first: how the civil ceremony works, whether you need a residency period, what a symbolic ceremony at a château actually looks like. We'll walk you through it.
The legal sideIn France, only a civil ceremony at a town hall is legally binding, it's conducted in French, and it requires a residency period that most international couples can't meet. Nearly every couple we work with marries legally at home, then holds a symbolic ceremony here, at the venue, with whatever officiant and vows they want. That's the version that gets photographed.
The lightProvence in summer holds light until almost 10pm. That changes everything about how a day is scheduled. Ceremony at 5pm, portraits at 8:30, dinner outside as the sky goes gold. We plan around it because we shoot here every season.
The distanceYou're planning from thousands of miles away. We do venue scouting, send you reference frames from the actual site, and answer emails in your timezone when it matters.
Provence and the surrounding region: the Vaucluse, the Luberon, the Alpilles, Avignon, and the villages between them. Places we've worked include the Clos Saint-Michel in Malaucène, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the Abbaye Saint-Eusèbe in Saignon, and the Tour Vaucros in Sorgues.
